Last Judgement, originally uploaded by adelie.Last weekend, we visited Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune and saw this amazing polyptych painted by a dutch artist named Rogier van der Weyden, a contemporary of Jan van Eyck. The details were painstakingly finished and amazing, such that there was this fancy, mobile magnifying-lens to see all the technicalities. I couldn't help trailing the lens while the docent kept moving it around the painting. Beaune, France Mai 2008
